North Plains Library

In the little town of North Plains near where I live, a library is being built - not with public funds, but through community spirit. Wayne Holm, a local business man, has graciously donated a large portion of the proceeds, not to mention all the lumber - to build the library. Lots of other people throughout the North Plains area are donating their time and money for this worthy cause. This is NOT publicly funded. You can read more about the library through a recent article in the Oregonian here. You can also get more information on the library at the North Plains Library web site  here.

Myself, I have decided to donate DVD and VHS versions of 100 movies. I believe that movies are a great way to get our circulation up and at the same time expose people to a variety of movies. I've went through my reviews and selected what I think are "off-the-beaten track" movies that are very good. I'm purposely staying away from the big blockbusters, or those movies that run on cable every week.

My feeling is that when people visit the library, they should be able to pick any movie out & be guaranteed a good time (as long it's age appropriate).

This is still a work in progress as I work with the librarian...but here they are:
